The party:
A kind friend made Mia a chocolate cake. Miles decorated the cake. The theme was water, since Mia loves water. She was a little wary of the candle, but loved the chocolate. The garland was a joint effort.
A year in review:
It's hard to believe that our tiny, fragile baby, who came home with a heart/apnea monitor, has grown into such a spunky one-year-old (who can hold her own with her big brother). We're so glad she's our girl. Happy birthday, Mia!
Birth stats: 12-month stats:
5 lbs., 15 oz. 20.56 lbs (41st percentile)
19 inches 29.5 inches (63rd percentile)
Here are a few tidbits about the one-year-old Mia:
1. She climbs stairs and loves sliding down them
2. She loves to ask for water, her favorite thing in the world
3. She thinks it's funny to walk backward
4. Her nickname is The Termite, because she gnaws on everything, especially wooden items, like cribs
5. She loves books--as a source of entertainment and food
6. She's still a snuggler, and has taken to snuggling her babies; she pats their backs and kisses them
7. She's a charmer and will wave and say "hi" to passers by. If she really likes you, she'll blow a kiss.
8. She's wild; if she doesn't want her diaper changed, good luck
9. She will entertain herself for good chunks of time as long as she has a good toy
10. She gave up pacifiers at about three months but loves her blanket
11. She sings, dances, and jumps on command
12. She gives great hugs
